prthealth.org was designed for the health practitioner who finds him or herself thrust into the role of Global Public Health advisor in a Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT), Embedded Training Team (ETT), or any other entity where one is now learning how to improve health in a developing country like Afghanistan.

This website is not all inclusive, nor is it official ISAF guidance. It is simply meant to help guide newly arrived Healthcare practitioners, many of whom have never worked in public or global health. This website is intended to serve many customers of the coalition forces. Because the authors are from the U.S., it is primarily focused on U.S. activities.

The site is intended to be kept up to date. It is intended for personell who are deployed, or soon to be. Because many of diverse backgrounds of the health care personnel deployed to Afghanistan (US. Army, Navy and Airforce Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Midwives and Medics), this website is meant to be open source, with no classified material posted. We have heard complaints Joint or Coalition partners cannot all access the same military data storage website (such as Army Knowledge Online or Center for Army Lessons Learned), so this should serve as a starting point for many who will be coming to Afghanistan.
